2 Euorpean Tours Plays, Go big fellas

Mcginley +105 over Wilson
Maarten Lafeber -135 over M. Campbell

Ryder Cup player Oliver Wilson travelled to Dublin on Monday still not sure whether he will be fit enough to play The 3 Irish Open starting at County Louth on Thursday.

The 28-year-old from Mansfield took a three-week break after his Masters debut last month, but just when he was due to return the recurrence of an old neck injury forced him out of The Players Championship last week.

"I'm flying to Dublin, will have some physio on it and then just see how it is," said Wilson, who had to pull out of two events with the same problem last year and had it again at Bay Hill in March.

He added: "I played nine holes on Monday morning, but it's still not right."

He is also battling with a chest condition called costo chondritis, an inflammation where ribs join with the cartilage that holds them to the sternum.

"It's not career-threatening or anything, but I had an MRI scan last week to try to get to the bottom of it.

"It's a shame because I'm really excited about playing again after my rest.

"I flew to Florida last Thursday, practised at Lake Nona and then went to Sawgrass. But after one hole on Wednesday I felt the neck go again."

However Campbell will be hoping there is not a reoccurrence of a concern for his right shoulder that saw him withdraw after nine holes of last week’s Players Championship in Florida.

Helping lift his spirits is the fact that he’s back in Europe for a first time since last October and it was last October where Campbell last played four rounds.

“It’s been seven long months since I last played four round at that was at the Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland,” he said.

“I then went to Hong Kong and developed a shoulder injury so it’s been a frustrating seven months since the Dunhill.

“All I can do is tee-up on Thursday and hope there’s no further problems. We’re now into May and it’s been tough having to sit on the sidelines and also to withdraw from tournaments.
